The purpose of the Joyce & Tony Singh Family Foundation is to promote the conservation and regeneration of the local ecology, to support community building through land ethic practices, and to foster a beloved community of diversity, reconciliation, peace, and holistic empathy.
The Joyce & Tony Singh Family Foundation is guided by two influential concepts:
- Aldo Leopold’s Land Ethic
-
“The land ethic simply enlarges the boundaries of the community to include soils, waters, plants, and animals, or collectively: the land… In short, a land ethic changes the role of Homo sapiens from conqueror of the land-community to plain member and citizen of it. It implies respect for his fellow-members, and also respect for the community as such.”

- Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Beloved Community
-
“Our goal is to create a beloved community, and this will require a qualitative change in our souls as well as a quantitative change in our lives”
